What is the Center for Integrated Psychological Services?

The Center for Integrated Psychological Services at the Mental Health Center of Denver is a Behavior Medicine clinic offering psychological interventions for individuals with an acute or chronic medical illness. Our services include behavioral medicine therapy and behavioral medicine evaluations. 

We realize that coping with an acute or chronic medical condition can be very difficult. We offer psychological treatment and interventions that will help both the treating professional and the client better understand the psychological mind/body issues relevant to the client’s medical condition, provide a series of targeted, behavioral medicine therapeutic interventions that help empower and motivate clients, giving them the skills to better manage life with a medical condition.

Behavioral Medicine Therapy: 

Behavioral Medicine at The Center for Integrated Psychological Services is therapy for individuals who have an acute or chronic medical illness.

This therapy can help you better understand how your mind and your body interact and how this can have a profound impact on your experience of dealing with a medical condition.

We strive to provide interventions that will enhance your quality of life while coping with a medical condition.

Behavioral Medicine Evaluations:  

Medical providers often find it helpful to have their patients undergo a psychological evaluation prior to a medical procedure.

Behavioral medicine evaluations are often required by insurance carriers and/or physicians before these procedures can be performed.

These evaluations are done to better predict prognosis, to reduce poor surgical outcomes and they often help the physician determine appropriateness for a certain medical procedure (for instance, gastric bypass surgery, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation devices, organ transplants, et cetera).
