5 Tips for Staying Healthy This Holiday Season

Are you wondering how you can take steps to stay healthy this holiday season? Try these 5 tips, and remember, the holiday season is an especially important time to remain present in the moment by being purposeful and aware of ones emotions and needs.

Community of Supporters – Surround yourself with family, friends and loved ones. Keep in mind we don’t get through this world alone, and having a strong community of support is a key to healthy living.

Manage Your Calendar – Avoid becoming stressed and overwhelmed by only committing to things you know you are capable of doing and attending.

Make a Budget – Live and spend within your means. Overspending can often contribute to holiday stress. Get crafty with friends or family with low-cost holiday activities like baking holiday cookies or making holiday cards.

Breathe – Just relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy the moment. A short mindful breathing activity can significantly reduce daily stress. Try finding someplace comfortable where you can sit or lie down, and focus on your breathing for 10-20 minutes.

Self-Care – Find those individual techniques that help you relax and use them often.  It’s important to take the time to support and work on yourself every day.
