Are Mental Health Center of Denver Job Shadowing placements paid?

All job shadowing placements are unpaid.

How long can I expect to shadow?

You will have an orientation meeting at our administrative office up to one week before your placement at a clinic. Typical job shadowing shifts will last up to eight hours.

Where will I be located?

Students are able to shadow at our Adult Recovery Center or at Dahlia Campus for Health and Well-Being.

What type of training and orientation will I receive?

You will have an orientation meeting at our administrative office to complete paperwork and learn what to expect during your placement. Once you receive information on your job shadowing placement, you will have the opportunity to observe a medical provider at the Mental Health Center of Denver for up to eight hours. During this time, you will solely be observing rather than providing care. As this is an educational experience, we suggest you come prepared with questions to ask your assigned provider.

When should I apply?

Job shadowing opportunities are available year-round. Please submit your application when you are interested in shadowing.

What all do I need to participate?

The items you will need to participate are:

  • Completed application form
  • Proof of enrollment in a higher education program (such as a letter from your school’s registrar’s office stating the program you are enrolled in)
  • A valid picture ID must be provided at orientation session
