Job Shadowing Opportunities
The Mental Health Center of Denver’s job shadowing program provides pre-med and pre-health students with an opportunity to shadow a healthcare professional as they perform their daily duties.
About the Application Process
Applications for the Job Shadowing Program are accepted throughout the year. Once you have submitted an application, you will be contacted within two weeks. Please have all required documents ready at the time you submit your application. Learn more about our Job Shadowing Program here.
Frequently Asked Questions
All job shadowing placements are unpaid.
You will have an orientation meeting at our administrative office up to one week before your placement at a clinic. Typical job shadowing shifts will last up to eight hours.
You will have an orientation meeting at our administrative office to complete paperwork and learn what to expect during your placement. Once you receive information on your job shadowing placement, you will have the opportunity to observe a medical provider at the Mental Health Center of Denver for up to eight hours. During this time, you will solely be observing rather than providing care. As this is an educational experience, we suggest you come prepared with questions to ask your assigned provider.
Job shadowing opportunities are available year-round. Please submit your application when you are interested in shadowing.
The items you will need to participate are:
- Completed application form
- Proof of enrollment in a higher education program (such as a letter from your school’s registrar’s office stating the program you are enrolled in)
- A valid picture ID must be provided at orientation session
- Signed confidentiality agreement which you will complete during orientation
